Neotropical migrating birds on their way much further north stop in north Florida for just a few days each Spring, usually just after a storm in May forces them to land. Those special, wet, post-rain mornings the hammocks become vibrant green with fresh resurrection fern and are alive with the motion and song of migrating birds. The American Redstart is one of the latest species to arrive, but when they are here they dominate. A few days later they are gone. This piece is printed from a single hand-carved wood block using the reduction method.
