The common yellowthroat is a small warbler species that frequents edge habitat where dense growth of shrubs grow along side dense grassy and weedy areas. It is one of the most common (hence the name) and wide spread warbler species in North America. The males sing their bubbly witchita-witchita-witchita song to defend territories and attract mates, often perching at the top of a bush to project their message. Females are less colorful than males are much more secretive. This small print is a reduction linocut printed with archival inks on Rives heavyweight cotton rag paper.
