The Mayport shrimp is the population of northern white the lives primarily in the estuaries in and around the mouth of the St. Johns River that enters the Atlantic Ocean at Mayport, FL. This shrimp is most important target for the commercial fishing industry in northeast Florida, and is valued for its sweet, white meat and large size. This geometric design is carved by hand into linoleum and then printed onto two different papers: Rives lightweight paper and Philippine gampi paper infused with mulberry fibers. This handmade specialty paper has a light pink hue that looks great with this shrimp print.
